Quarter beef - this is also called a 'split half'. Using the above view, a quarter is not the front half or back half of a side. Once your order is ready, we'll contact you to arrange a pickup time. Pickup is at the farm in Central Dinwiddie County, Virginia and takes under 5 minutes. Make sure to bring coolers to transport your meat home. For every 1/4 of a cow purchased you will need 150 quarts of cooler space. For local transporting no ice is necessary as meat is frozen.
Freezer space for a 1/4 cow is approximately 5-7 cubic feet, for a 1/2 cow approximately 10-15 cubic feet, and for a whole cow approximately 20-25 cubic feet.
Chappell Farms beef will stay fresh and safe in your freezer for at least one year from the date of purchase.
After you submit a reservation for a particular beef share your name will be put on a list to secure your spot. Katie will reach out to you when your name is next on the list.
